We are pleased to introduce workshop facilitator for this year’s edition of the Sounds of Veritas Festival, taking place on July 2-6, 2026. Joining our program is Wiktor Golc - a percussionist, sculptor and one of the pioneers of djembe drumming in Poland.

For over 40 years, Wiktor has been creating and playing traditional percussion instruments, combining music, craftsmanship and a deep understanding of rhythm as a form of communication and expression.

During the workshop, participants will learn the basic techniques of playing the djembe and other drums, while also experiencing rhythm as a space for community, awareness and deep listening. The session will also offer insight into the construction of the instrument: from the selection of wood, through the making process, to tuning.

Wiktor will also share his experience of how various rhythmic and cultural influences have reached Poland, how they were interpreted, and how they shaped his personal approach to music and original compositions. Participants will have the opportunity to play selected rhythms and experience them in a new, personal way.

The workshop is open to both beginners and more experienced participants. An important element is playing together, sensitivity to sound and celebrating the simplicity of rhythm.

Wiktor Golc runs the Drum Maker workshop in Wrocław, where he handcrafts drums appreciated both in Poland and internationally. His extensive experience, passion and charisma make his sessions much more than traditional workshops. They become a full immersion into the world of rhythm, sound and community.
